About

Adria, Editor and Author

You can find my fiction in Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show, the Third Flatiron Anthologies Abbreviated Epics and Only Disconnect, Fae, Corvidae, OnSpec Magazine, Tesseracts Sixteen, James Gunn’s Ad Astra, Neo-opsis Magazine, Enigma Front series, and Hypersonic Tales, among others. My debut novel launched in 2019 from Tyche Books, entitled Jumpship Hope, and the sequel Jumpship Dissonance is forthcoming. I have also written and published non-fiction, both as a ghostwriter and under my own name, in addition to publishing many magazine and newspaper articles and photographs through the years.

I am a honors graduate of SAIT’s Journalism Arts Program in Calgary, and a graduate of the Odyssey Writers Workshop in New Hampshire. I’m also a member of the Imaginative Fiction Writers Association (IFWA) and Calgary Association of Freelance Editors (CAFÉ). I work from home as a freelance book editor, helping both individual authors and publishing houses create the best possible reading experience. My biggest claim to fame as an editor is the anthology Urban Green Man, which was nominated for an Aurora Award.

Adria, Wood Artisan

I study carving through courses at Lee Valley and Black Forest Wood Company, as well as from books and videos at home. I attend markets as a vendor at the Millarville Farmer’s Market, Inglewood Night Market, the Water Valley Celtic Festival, and the Crazy 4 Crafts Christmas Markets, among others. You can find my wooden rune sets, tree bark signs, hand-carved and wood-burned pendants, and framed wire trees at both Divine Mine locations and The Fairy Hut. I’m building a reputation for my whittled cottonwood bark, a plentiful wood with beautiful grain.
